No. The Government of the Republic of Slovenia has adopted a Decree on the temporary prohibition of offering and selling goods and services directly to consumers at driving schools and authorized organizations in the field of drivers and vehicles in the Republic of Slovenia. This Decree entered into force on 18 March 2020, at 00.00.

The Decree temporarily prohibits the pursuit of driver candidate training activities, additional training programs for beginner drivers, additional safety training programs and training programs and additional training for beginner driver training programs and safe driving.

At the same time, it is forbidden for legal persons or sole proprietors to carry out these tasks, as individuals performing the tasks of the technical service, professional organizations and authorized registration organizations.

The ban is valid until April 16, 2020, and the validity of driving licenses that expire as a result of this decree until April 16, 2020 is extended until May 16, 2020.

At the time when the driving exams were not taking place, I had an appointment for the theoretical part of the exam, but now my medical certificate has expired and I cannot reapply for theory, will I be able to make the next application?

Are MOTs ongoing? What should I do if my motor vehicle registration expires?

Starting from 17 March 2020, it is temporarily forbidden to carry out technical inspections and other procedures related to the registration of motor vehicles and work in tachograph workshops.

Registration of my vehicle is about to expire. Will I be able to perform MOT and also register the vehicle?

We recommend all driver candidates who already have a specific date for the theoretical or practical part of the driving test until 16.04.2020, monitor information on the Agency’s website, where we will provide all information on the further course of driving tests (Slovenian language only). All candidates who already have driving license appointment are currently assigned a “not approached” status in the driving license, which means that you will re-apply for the available appointment at the selected administrative unit once the dates have been re-announced.

Are car services (regular, under warranty) and road assistance services operating?

As public transport is temporarily banned, car and repair services are urgently needed, so these services can continue to be provided.

As early as March 15, it was necessary to replace winter tires on cars. Will the vulcanizers still be open?

No. The provision of vulcanizer services is no exception to the temporary ban on the provision of goods and services to consumers. However, the decree does not apply to business relationships, so the services of tire change can be provided to businesses, including the provision of public services (eg. police, firefighters, ambulances) for these services. Please also follow the weather forecast and do not hurry with the tire change if the weather situation is worsening:
